| - Worth It All WOW been a long time since I’ve been here, but I’m back now! And planning on staying back! I’m also back online after months of silence, between schedule and PC problems, I think I’m running WOD (wide open throttle: Best all around performance is achieved when wide-open-throttle engine operation occurs)
But now back to the WORD, cause mine our powerless without “HIS”
Let’s go with a double message today:
MSG 1 – Dirty Diapers –
I don’t have much experience in diaper replacement, but I need to keep changing myself. No I don’t wear diapers, just read the rest…lol
I need to “Change my Mind” and I’ve seen people get upset if someone “changes their mind”
Let’s think of some instances of when we get upset?
· Our parents said one thing then changed their mind
· Our friends wanted to come over and changed their mind
· We were going to get a raise but our boss changed their mind
· Etc….
Now we get upset when people change their mind, but, people have to change their minds.
Two reasons why we have to change our minds:
1: Our minds aren’t perfect. When we become Christians, we don’t get a perfect brain, we get a perfect retirement plan, but our minds need to be changed.
2: The bible says we must change our minds Romans 12:2 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=rom%2012:2&version=31
Now I am committed to becoming a man of integrity, and keep my word. So If I say “I’m going to be somewhere,” I want to keep my word. As leaders (all Christians are leaders, we are called to lead others to eternity) we should keep our word.
But what happens is we say things like “God told me to do this….. Then after it didn’t work out cause it was our fleshly desire (a new relationship [not just romantic but friendships we know will drag us down] job that will interfere with growth in Christ, a new church, wat-eva else you’ve experienced) Then we come back saying, God changed his mind, and then people get this bent view on God.
God doesn’t change His mind, either we are in touch with Holy Spirit or we miss it.
So let’s decide to change our stinkin thinkin and wash our mind with the word. Rom 12:2
-a quote to chew on: “God is immutable. He has never changed and can never change in any smallest measure. To change He would need to go from better to worse or from worse to better. He cannot do either, for being perfect He cannot become more perfect, and if He were to become less perfect He would be less than God.” AW Tozer |
